I could hardly hear what he was saying. And i couldn’t see the sandbag at all until he picked it up. Then ge hust looked fat, cos it was masked against the wall and his dark clothing. Good idea tho. Kinda like a zercher/front squat.

the choice of black pants with the darker background make your legs all but dissipater.

@FamilyQuan hey, i wish you the same. its rare that i come across someone on youtube who is genuine and interested in knowledge to advance as a person. i wish you all the luck in the world man!

  5. FamilyQuan says:

@opticannon Sounds like you have a great regime and outlook – I wish you all the best in your training.

@FamilyQuan you are on to something though. the gym is boring as hell. i use it though to peak my performance and gauge it by these rigorous activities. when you can run down a mountain side through trees, leaping over ravines, and body rolling out of mountain bike mishaps unscathed due to your hard work? thats what the gym is for. also, my kung fu improves tremendously so i taper it to performance results that make it a worth while goal and fun. then i look foward to putting money in the bank.

@FamilyQuan On civility – you’re more than welcome. It’s not up to me to tell others what to do with their videos, but personally, I feel that if you put stuff out there you should be prepared to hear what people say about it. I notice some people only want praise, which is up to them – but personally I want to become better, learn more, enjoy sharing and growing – which requires some critique, criticism, humour, insult, lol. I’m glad anyone takes a moment to share a thought of any shade.

  8. FamilyQuan says:

@opticannon Yes, I think you have a point – I especially think the expert guidance of expert trainers can massively help improve results and increase the long term health benefits. Of course, it is a little naive of me to romanticise people who live extremely hard lives – and often do, as you say, get worn out by them. I think I’m just getting bored with old training methods and looking for new avenues.

@FamilyQuan i believe those natural activities wear the body down. modern exercise helps improve the activities such as climbing, running outside, and situations where you have to manuevre the body. its like people who do these things for a living as it eventually destroys your health. by maintaining and conditioning you can reduce injury and promote longevity. but, i generally agree it will make you effective but, you do understand my p.o.v. no? thanks for your civility.

@opticannon By a weird – and genuine – coincidence, very recently I’ve been considering doing far less gym based training, and experimenting with more natural based training – running outside, climbing, body weight exercises. Not quite stone age, but close to the lifestyles of people of the past or tribal groups who were exercising just by existing. But – your point is well taken, and thanks for taking time to comment.

  11. opticannon says:

get out of the stone ages and get a gym membership. its faster to develop what you need.

@indiawingchun Thanks! Interestingly enough I was talking to a guy recently who is practising Indian baton training – and that looks like pretty good trainin. I hope to investigate that avenue of training at some point. Thanks for the kind words – I will, most certainly keep on practising! Cheers.

  15. FamilyQuan says:

@eskabo Thanks for the good word!

  16. eskabo says:

That looks like a VERY EXCELLENT training tool! Presentation was really good also. Thanks!

  17. indiawingchun says:

Good one. Your routine is very similar to the Indian Wrestlers who use a huge baton called mugdal which is approx 3 to 10 kgs. Keep practicing
